Second game in the back-to-back roadtrip for the Lightning tonight against the Pens. First game this season without el cap-i-tan Lecavalier
This is the second of the four meetings we'll have against the Pens. In the last game we had against them, Mike Smith let in three goals before he was pulled for Dan Ellis and the Lightning then had a huge comeback win. Can they do it again but minus three top six forwards?
According to Cristodero, last night Yzerman said that Johan Harju and Marc Pouliot will be called up from Norfolk. In twelve games played, Harju has had 7 goals and 9 assists and Pouliot has had 4 goals and 14 assists.
But the scoring pressure will fall to players like Ryan Malone, Dominic Moore and Sean Bergenheim to step up. There's also Thompson, Hall and Tyrell...but it's not like I expect them to score, rather they'll be more of a pleasant surprise if they do score.
The Pens are 7-8-1 coming into tonight's game and is still without Jordan Staal. Malkin didn't practice yesterday and the Pensblog was trying to figure out if a hit against Shawn Thornton was the cause of it. No word if he won't play tonight or not. Fleury is still terrible on the first few shots of every game. He'll battle through it in the long run, but it's tough right now for the fans I'm sure.
- Since Ellis started last night, I'm assuming Mike Smith will get the start in goal
- Simon Gagne, Steve Downie, and Vincent Lecavalier are all out
- Jordan Staal is out the the Penguins
